Is using an alias illegal?
Is using an alias to meet people, fill in non-legal documents etc illegal?

yes of couurrsse... a detective agency ... obvious really! - and you think AB is the correct way to work out the legalities of this?
if so you are clearly not qualified to be a PD anyway
so this is all just 'research' ... the reason given by most people when caught out ... and nothing whatsoever to do with finding a load of private documents for another person...
if and when this person discovers his name is being used by another person for fraud etc - and calls the police ...what do you think he is going to reply when the police ask him if there is any way others could have got the information?
at some point he is going to say he sold a HD - and give your name.
unless you bought it in a charity shop and were therefore untraceable - you WILL be traced...
