We absolutely love Cornwall - just wish it wasn't such a hard slog to get to from us, horrible long journey as I'm a bad traveller ......... love its beaches, love its gardens, love its scenery, love the people, love the male voice choirs, love the icecream, love the history, - only downside is the weather (often when we go!!)
Beautiful location on the St Just Roseland peninsula, near St Mawes, lovely little village of Portscatho nearby and a good beach. The hotel has just achieved a Michelin Star for its food.

Not too many nightclubs nearby, though probably a couple of small ones in St Mawes.

If you really have notes to burn then there is the Tresanton in St Mawes, Lord Forte's daughter who did the telly thing on small businesses, Alex Polizzi or something like that, It is nice but truly pricey and for the jet-set...
http://www.tresanton.com/ The food is not bad either, ate there recently with friends who were down staying there.

Avoid Newquay like the plaque - it is ghaaaaaaaaaaastly, darling.
seriously good, tony, about 150 for 2 inc a good wine, pre and post drinks....friends who were recently there, said they would have happily paid two hundred.
Not if your a surf dude, DT.
no but even then you can escape to Watergate or St Ives Porthmeor - or Perranporth, though, other than the commando golf course,(which I love) there isn't much else. St Agnes and Porth Chapel two hidden jewels as well for the wavers.....
There's something almost hypnotic about their music...

A dancing bin-liner, how cute!
A more polished take on the same air...

Yep, I like Perranporth,DT also like Bedruthan steps usually I make a stop there on my way from Padstow to Newquay.
"We also have a "chapter" of three, I think ... ladybirder, yogi-bear, me."

If only....if only, JJ, you cheeky little minx :0) xx

You may gather from other posts I like my food.
The Tate Museum at St Ives has a great terrace cafe.
Question Author
Is that connected to the Tate in London?
It's run by the same trustees, as are Tate Modern and Tate Liverpool.
Question Author
That sounds jolly. I like the Tate. It's fun. Not stuffy like some galleries can be.
Luckily we live in Devon so it's easy to visit. Love all Cornwall, try to go to a different part for a short break every year. Yes St. Ives Tate is brilliant!!
