Brain Tumour.

Although I appreciate you do not know the case,would you be kind enough to give me your general opinion.
My SiL has just had an op to debulk a brain tumour.We have been told today,that the biopsy shows she has a Grade 4 Aggressive Tumour.What is the normal treatment for this and what are her chances.

lilcaben - I think you`re confusing grade 4 with stage 4..

You have asked me a straight forward question and i will give you an honest and straight forward answer.

Without knowing exactly the type of tumour, from what you have described and the grading, it is almost certainly a type of astracytoma.
This is a highly malignant and aggressive tumour and the treatment is surgery followed by radiotherapy.

Few patients survive 8 months with OR without treatment.

My understanding of Grade 4 Aggressive Tumour is that it has spread (metastised) to other organs.

hours of this morning.
