This is a genre that I know little or nothing about but I have a group of scooter fans coming to visit over the bank holiday weekend and I know from last year that they like this kind of music.
Can anyone recommend any good compilation albums and suggest some groups that they may like?

With thanks.

I've got two of the best compilations, I think. One is just calledNorthern Soul Vol 2. It contains the classic songs - Do I Love You? Getting Mighty Crowded and The 'In' Crowd.

The other is called Out On the Floor with more classics - Queen of Fools, The Snake and Backfield In Motion. Enjoy them!

This one is worth a few thousand pounds if you can find the single - and if the link works! Media URL: http://youtu.be/xwvpeYiQwss

If you copy and paste the link I gave you it's 'Do I love You?' by Frank Wilson which is said to be worth £2,000 on vinyl - if anyone can find it. Yes, your link is Out on the Floor cd - the other one I have. The two I gave you is all you need for your Bank Holiday!

Thank you Cetti They're both a reasonable price.
Speaking as an aging head-banging hippy your input has been invaluable.
You're more than welcome, WyeDyed - have a great time!
WyeDyed, I used to go to Wigan Casino, Blackpool Mecca, Catacombs Wolverhampton mainly 1974 1978 and as andy say's earlier on this thread do not play Footsie by Wigans chosen few or Skiing in the snow by Wigans ovation, they were a commercial venture ( and travesty ) by some record companies cashing in on the legend that was Wigan Casino.

No probs. Try to make sure that the last 3 records that yo play are Long after tonight is all over, Time will pass you by and I'm on my way. They were always the last 3 records played t the end of the ''All Nighters '' at Wigan Casino. Russ Winstanley the DJ called them '' The Three before Eight ''.
Maybe Toes, Did you put fishing weights into the hem of your circle skirt, so that when you did a spin when dancing it held out in a perfect circle. Used to love they way the sound used to reverberate around all the corridors and alcoves at the Catacombs.

Just to finish this thread, the two albums that Cetti recommended went down very well and was played more than once, so I feel they payed for themselves.
Thank you to all the other contributors to this thread, which gave me just enough knowledge to bull5hit my way through.
