Glynn, as you may remember was part of The Poole Family who used to appear regularly on TV in shows like "Stars on Sunday". Glynn also starred in Junior Showtime along with Mark Curry (apologies if I'm telling you stuff you already know) which, as I can recall was a kind of minstrel thing. Bobby Bennett played Mr Interlocutor, I met Bobby several years ago when he was doing a show in my town and I asked him what had become of Glynn Poole and he told me he was now involved in underground music, so make of that what you will. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge on Glynn Poole.

I also have that single. Did you know the tune was first used with different lyrics? The top 10 hit Leeds United by Leeds United in 1972 is exactly the same, it starts off with the line " first of all there's the boss who's right behind us, he's the one who fills our hearts with pride, it's a joy to us all when Big Jack has the ball to know that he is on our side" It then proceeds to mention the great Leeds players Bremner, Lorimer, Clarke etc..
