Bread made in a bread maker.
11 Answers
Some time ago I had a recipe for making bread in my bread maker, I have however lost it and wondered if any of you wonderful people out there had one they would share with me. The recipe I had did not use dried skimmed milk, it did have some sugar, salt, butter, water and of course flour. I cannot remember what the quantities were. I do remember using 1 sachet of dried yeast. Many thanks in advance.

For a simple medium-sized white loaf, I use:
Dried yeast 1tsp
Strong white flour 475g
Sugar 1.5tsp
Butter 25g
Salt 1.25tsp
Water 320ml
The dried yeast goes in the bottom first. This comes straight out of the Panasonic book.
BTW, it is far cheaper to buy Dove Farms dried yeast (orange packet) at about £1.30p per small packet than those sachets. It last ages.

Dry milk or wet milk? Some bread machine recipes call for dry milk and water. But if you're going to start your bread machine right away instead of using a timer, you can replace the water with milk or buttermilk and delete the powdered milk.
