Having entered a Google Search to buy Waking the Dead Series 9 DVD, one of the links was for something called project Free TV, which appears to be a site that "allows" you to download and watch all manner of films/TV Progs. I do not normally click on anything if something seems "too good to be true" remembering that old Russian proverb "Free chesse only comes on mouse traps"!!
However, I did click, and proceeded to register, and opted out of all the options for it to become my home page, change my search engine etc. Despite this, my home page etc has been changed, and I cannot now change it back. I;ve been into Control Panel/Internet options to no avail.
Does anyone have knowledge of Project Free TV and how I can restore my home page to Google. Thanks

If it's only your home page that has changed then there is no need for something as drastic as a system restore - just go to the Tools menu for your browser and select options/internet options (or whatever the item in your particular browser is called) and in the first section of that is where you set your home page.

Thanks for that Heathfield. Pretty much what I'd expected. I only stayed on it for about 10 minutes, before deciding it was not the right thing to be doing. Of course by then my home page etc had already been "corrupted". I still can't get the home page back to my preferred Google. Can anyone tell me how to do this. Thanks
System restore?

I'm not too sure how to do system restore. Is this where you have to select a "Restore Point" from a time prior to downloading Project Free TV?
Yes countrykid. I have done done this in the past but for some reason I don`t find it so easy on Vista. Sometimes I have gone through the whole process only to get a message at the end that says I haven`t been able to do it. It might be worth you putting a question in technology as to how to do it so you can get some answers from some techies.

I can't give specific advice.
If you are unsure of system restore or it doesn't work you might get help from some of the on-line sites. Several years ago(pre AB) I had help from the TomCoyote site which seems to be part of this organisation now.

Thanks for that, I'll give the Technology section a go. Do you know if it's possible to switch this post over to that section, or do I need to resubmit a question?

Many thanks to Bibblebub and everyone else who responded. I have now gone into the Tools menu of Firefox and have now changed the home page back. Fair to say I won't be clicking Project Free again!!
