FB - help needed quickly

I have sent (by mistake) a friend request that I didn't mean to - how do I un-send it?

You can't - all you can do is block the person - or unfriend them if they accept the request.

Bugger - this person may well know me but will now think I am some sort of nutter.

To block someone go to the privacy settings page (via the dropdown menu top right of your home page) and then 'manage blocking'.

Update : apparently if you block someone and then unblock them the friend request will disappear.

I've found out that you can un-send the request but I don't know who I sent it too (it was someone on a list of mutual friends).

That's the problem - it was on a long list of mutual friends and it's gone (my own fault for messing about on the iPad whilst eating my tea).

Tink, you are right, if you click on the friend request sent button there is an option to cancel.

Just got a message saying 'do I know you', I explained my stupidity but the friend request was accepted anyway!

Person sent another message along the line of 'ha ha, well, we're friends now' - judging from his mutual friends he is not a nutter (although who knows). I will leave it a couple of days and zap him so I don't offend him.

I was about to say that serrard, accept the friend then unfriend in a couple of days time. If anything is said you could always say it was a mistake. I've had to do that.
