Microsoft Office

Last year i legitimately purchased Office 2010 and installed it on my desktop. Said computer then proceeded to cease functioning. I procured a replacement yesterday and thought it should be OK to reinstall Office 2010 on my shiny new machine. It won't let me activate it.

Does this mean that I have to buy another copy? Or is there a way round this? I don't think it's fair to have to pay again for a product.

I don't want to have to get illegal on Microsoft either by visiting a download site.

Just incase, did you have internet connected as you would need it.

Hi, yes it had to connect to the internet to verify the serial.

If it failed to activate over the net, it should have offered you the chance to activate by phone.

It does give the option to activate by phone. But will they let me?

Yes - they'll ask you how many other machines it's installed on and you'll say none, and that's all there is to it!
