In future should memorial plaques be made of stone rather than metal which attracts thieves?

Nah, let them stay as metal.

Just display them at a reasonable height.











And electrify them.
It never ceases to amaze me how LOW people will sink!

And there'll be someone to buy it from the thief for a few pounds.
...and thereby lies the problem sandy...the theiving would stop if the dealers were shot at dawn...
This is my home town where it was stolen and I am beyond angry. I was in town when the bombs went off and often think 'there but for the grace of God'. It was such a lovely memorial.
shot at dawn seems a bit extreme, but flogging with the cat o nine tails might sort them out.
they have stolen it to weigh in for scrap.
if all metal yards were made to pay by account only and never cash it would drastically reduce the crimes of these thieving scum.
and make them pay tax on their ill gotten gains!
