Apart from Mrs O's thread, it was Carrust's reply there that prompted this thread. I don't necessarily mean size either, probably more cash value.

I answered a bizarre trivial question involving UK history on the radio in New York and won a meal for 2 in a restaurant - the only problem being that I got food poisioning - oh well.

My brother was a massive fan of The Who and entered a competition on Piccadilly Radio to win two tickets for one of their concerts. He did not win but got a special mention for sending in 47 postcards all with the wrong answer on! lol

I once won a car!! At a charity function my husband bought a whole load of raffle tickets but I bought just one for my son, and amazingly that was the one that won!!! a VW Polo. Lovely little car.

I've had two £50 wins on the Health Lotto, £75 on a scratch card and £1000.00 twice at bingo, (shared three ways), and £2,400,00 on Dickinsons Real Deal last year.

My share of a works syndicate pools win was £1500. Sent the lot on a top quality Hi-Fi system. 100w RMS per channel amplifier, large speakers with 15" woofers, Marantz CD player etc. Still have it and it sounds just as good today as it did new.

Big wins on crosswords ..£ 1000 and a £500
Several smaller sums .various pens ,dictionaries ,other reference books .
A set comprising an iron ( not that I've used it much ..lol) a toaster and kettle
Won a superdooper radio recently with the I Cryptic .
That Telegraph pen eludes me having sent it in for donkeys years but I did win the crossword companion notebook which is the handiest thing ever .
