Oldest thing in the food cupboard

So I cleaned out my food cupboard today because it heaved of garlic. In the haul that went in the bin were 9 Schwartz spice bottles all out of date (which reminded me of a funny Michael McIntyre sketch) but the chives and a box of Oxo ran out in 2001. Do you think you've got something that old in your cupboard?

I can well understand leaving sprouts where they were.

When I left England 5 years ago, I threw out things dating from the 90s. That means I've probably got things dating back to 2007 now. I don't dare look.

Hmmm, we are having Moroccan tonight, our couscous in packets is end of 2009. We'll give it a go!

LOL, we couldn't clear our our cupboards like vodka, that would be such a waste of money, and things are perfectly good.

Nibble says he's cooking, so the meal will be fine :-)

I cook so much that there is little that is worryingly old in my cupboards.

My M-i-L's cupboards and fridge scare the life out of me.....some of the stuff is over 20yrs old.......

We have a bottle of celery salt, bought in 1948, by my Mum, for some exotic dish she wanted to make.
It's become a family 'heirloom' and nobody would dream of throwing it away!

We have got some sugar from the 1970s sugar shortage.

7 year old Soy Sauce ! Sounds like the sort of thing they would charge you a fortune for in an up-market deli !

I ditched a bottle of soy sauce at the back of my cupboard. It was about 6 months old but I read the label and it said it should be refrigerated after opening and used within 4 weeks. I still ate the stir fry. I always find an out of date herb jars in my cupboard.
