Help needed

Having recently purchased a mp3 player i am unable to transfer my songs i have downloaded from the internet to my mp3 player. Could anybody tell me why this is and whether i require any new software?

what software are you currently using? tell us in steps what you are currently trying to do. what mp3 player? at what point does it not work?
