Afternoon,

Did you contribute to this thread: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1136172.html

Is your answer still there? No? Then this post is for you. (Featuring Confucius).

1. Some users come here with weird questions, please accept that this is the case. Confucius say: "Not everyone weird is an owl."

2. Confucius say: "Just because you think it is an owl, doesn't mean it is." The user in question in the thread above doesn't appear to be a troll.

3. If you do think a user is an owl, please REPORT THE QUESTION. Please DO NOT REPLY TO THE QUESTION. Confucius say "Don't feed the trolls. Or Owls."

4. Confucius say: "You're not funny and it seems hostile to new users. So stop it!" Would you have hung around if your first question had been spammed by a bunch of regulars making in-jokes about owls?

-- answer removed --
I answered sensibly and that was removed- I made a reference to ' owls' because of the stupidity going on about it at the moment- but no need to remove sensible posts surely? The thread you should have targeted was this one- there was imho disgraceful behaviour from a lot of members on there- and no overzealous modding to be seen anywhere for a change-really not clever or funny.

Thanks NOX, surprised that didn't come in as a report.
NOX that thread made me cringe last night, I know good answers appeared but really - interspersed with comedy, was not a nice introduction.
I read that whilst I was eating, made me feel sick
There are posts here removed willy nilly for no reason whatsoever all the time Nox. Sensible ones that required no moderating and contain good, sensible information, but they are still removed
I suppose it comes down to whether or not it gets reported
Takes a lot to shock me but I thought if it wasn't an 'owl' then it was so aggressive as to be bordering on cyber bullying, I mean what right minded person never mind 15 year old would hang about after that- barring a few good sensible folks it was really nasty and unnecessary- anyway thanks for looking into it, the 'owl' thing has nearly seen me leave a couple of times lately.
Ed, in case anyone misses this thread and continues with the owl references, do you want them also to be reported or referred to this thread?

Both please Mark, if it's possible.

Will starting coming down harder on this once I think everyone has understood the message.
That couldn't be much clearer! Duly noted...

ojread2. Let me know where and I'll review. Contact me at the usual address.
Can we replace 'owls' with 'crocs' then?
Shoota, I think you know the answer to that.
Tongue in cheek, Mam, tongue in cheek.
NO,
just for once I didn't.

But you did on this one: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1136449.html

:)

Just asking those who cannot suspend their disbelief for those who may be in be in need, not to post on this type of question.
I offered an opinion based on what she wrote (discharge & feeling sick) and wished her good luck, what's wrong with that?
Did I miss something with the OWL reference. Not wanting to stir it up again but why can't we talk about owls? Is a euphemism? Or does it stand for something? or are you really talking about the bird?

Excuse my ignorance, I only drop in a couple of times a wekk.
Have to say on the infected thread that I remember that exact same post earlier in the year (or I'm going mad).
