Recently I have noticed 3 occurances of a sign.

The sign is a green background and has eiter yellow or whit lettering (not sure of the exact colour from memory!)

The layout is

2
E A
F S

and an arrow

(I think I have the letters in the right order!)

Any ideas?

Doubt it.

I'm in Scotland and I don't think whoever created these signs would use 2 to mean To!

I'm wondering if these are military signs.
If you've seen the sign close to an airport, military airfield, chemical works etc, it's probably directing the Fire Service to the official Emergency Access point to that site.

Or something to do with Edinburgh archeological field society

We have 2 bases - both over 5 miles away.

There is a piece of community land not that far away that can be used for helicopters droping off/picking up from the local hospital...

I never thought of the Fire Brigade - I'll have to remember to ask my cousin next time I see him, as he is a Fireman.
Forget it buenchico most likely right

Emergency Access
Fire Service.
The number is the number of the access point , some places have several of them. The arrow shows the direction to the access point.
I live near Duxford airfield and these signs are there , I used to know a guy who was a firefighter at Duxford .

Thanks Eddie.

I'll assume your answer, even though the 2 bases are in 2 other towns/villages.
