Gran Can - Playa des Ingles

going there next monday with six of my girlfriends, anyone ever been? whats it like there? and has it got a good nightlife?

Really good from what I can remember (went abou four years ago). The island is not a s commercialised as Tenerife but has much more to do than Lanzarote or Fuerteventura. You don't say when you are going but the weather is always good, hot and sunny, sometimes cloudy and usually accompanied by a nice breeze. Beaches are good, nice and clean, think they might have black sand too, because they are volcanic islands. I love the canary islands, Gran Can is one i would definitely go back to, along with lanzarote. Tenerife is not somewhere i feel the need to go back to.

Excellent Choice, I've been to Playa Del Ingles twice in the last five years and enjoyed both immensley. The first was with six girls and we stayed at some apartments called Tamaran. They were very lovely but quieter than your 18-30 blocks. The second time was with a group of 22 male and female and it was one of the best hols ever. We stayed at some apartments called Strelizias which was right opposite the yumbo centre (where all the bars are) GC is a good laugh - no shortage of people to meet and things to do and the beach is fab (so hot in the day that you can't walk on it though). I would highly recommend the beach for a sunrise - very soul soothing and jet skiing is a buzz. Other than that, just go with the flow. I am soooo jealous - can I come?

I can thoroughly recommend the jeep safaris on Gran Canaria - the routes are often just rough tracks with precipitous drops to the side, but the volcanic countryside is amazing!! (some of the driving may not be suitable for the nervous passenger!)
