Hello
If i set my DPI to a set number on a photoshop image, will my Epson printer read this instruction and print at that DPI or are settings set within the printer

Pictures on the screen are made up of small coloured squares called pixels. A measure of its resolution is therefore Pixels Per Inch (PPI)

Inkjet printers make up the colour of any pixel with small dots of a few basic colours (usually 3 or 5 + black) Printer resolution is therefore measured in Dots Per Inch (DPI)

Not sure about Epson but in my Canon and HP you have to do "print setup" within whatever program you are printing from and then choose the best image settings.

Epson have photoand Text,Photo and Best Photo but i dont see DPI values
Photoshop works in PPI not DPI,

AFAIA you can't set DPI in Photoshop, you will need to convert PPI to DPI
then choose best photo.

Your printer will usually have a fixed resolution (in dpi) that it prints at.

The PPI that you set in photo-imaging siftware will usually set the final image size but may be over-ridden by other software settings in your computer or printer.
