am very old, am very non technical but have just made the step to get contact lenses - bl**dy best thing I've ever done - can't thinl why I didn't do it before -anyone out there unsure - go for it - brilliant
Because I am also very old I have to ask the question what made you decide to even think about contact lenses ( I've never given them a thought & no one has ever suggested it to me ) ?
I tried them for a while many decades ago. Couldn't be shoving things into tired eyes first thing in the morning, so tried to wear them evenings only; but eventually just got out of the habit. Was simply easier to slip a pair of spectacles on and be done with it. After all, it's only vanity that requires them.
whiskeryron - I was invited to go to a higher level in an exteremely exciting sport I am involved in - having reading and distance glasses was a real hassle-so I looked at options. Honestly never, ever thought I could get on with contacts (I'm really old) but I have and they are brilliant - wish I'd done earier.
the disposable ones are not too bad (cost wise) - you don't have touse them every day - I'm quoting on my circumstances - I don't wear them every day but have a direct debit to deliver so many per month - works for me.
I've just signed a DD for not too much a month to supply a quantity to me the initial consultation was worth every penny - I was shown how to put in and take out lenses -have adjusted that to suit me - can honestly say I didn't think it was expensive but I do accept we all have a differnet outlay scale.
The cost is worth it to me.
Erin mines was free and im something like £13 a month and 6 lenses plus solution are delivered every 3months!! Brilliant- i thnk i paid 1st month upfrot or something - disposables i used to use were £30 a box i think (easy for me as both eyes are same prescription) x
