...that he wouldn't be rendered to any third country to face charges that he wouldn't have faced here in the UK?

Yes, but don't suppose they did. They , or the government, obviously do seek assurances in some cases e.g that the death penalty will not be sought in the USA. Sweden is a trusted country. The Swedish courts would not permit extradition to a country which did not, genuinely, invoke charges which did not, in essence, represent crimes under Swedish law. That's meant to be the international law in such matters. (Cynics may think that the UK allows extradition to the US regardless of that principle; no doubt our courts and government would say that they do abide by it, and the differences between the laws were slight and not essential ones)
