EM yes i know about this, but why wait untill 2015?
how would he be no worse off..
em

do the maths

<<he puts in almost a grand a week in petrol>>

actually it's probably Diesel

at £1.45 a litre that's (say) 655 litres
3p on a litre would be an extra £19.65 a week

If the truck is on the road at that mileage for 50 weeks a year that's £982. That's around the large artic Road Tax rates.
it is diesel, maths was never my strong suit. But anyone who puts in a grand a week just to get the thing on the road, is on a hiding to nothing.
Many hauliers are going out of business because of the high cost of fuel.
I don't think road tax is spent exclusively on the roads, is it?

National Insurance is another racket.

Pensions are a gigantic Ponzi scheme. If a business ran a pension scheme, completely unfunded, the owners would be jailed.
True Venator true.

as someone once wisely said; 'the only person who will look after your money as carefully and as diligently as you, is you'

so every penny we can avoid handing over to the government for them to lose/waste is a good thing
zeuhl, then we end up like Greece?
