Another Minecraft question
I notice the map size on the xbox 360 version is limited to 1024 x 1024 blocks. As each block to scale is 1m then this makes the map woefully small in comparison to the PC version. I read somewhere the PC map is 7000 times larger than Earth. Poor old xbox is smaller than the Scilly Isles!
Part of the joy of Minecraft is getting hopelessly lost in your world and moving on with new structures. Maybe in a few months time you'll eventually stumble across something you built and thought was lost forever!
I understand the current version we're playing on the xbox is very much still under development and updates will come as and when.
Can we expect a full PC size map? I'm loathe to develop my current map as I should imagine if you want to take advantage of the bigger maps when they come available you'll have to ditch your world and start over.

This is approximately the size of an in-game map. It is expected, but unknown if the world size will be increased along with the updates that will bring the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft up to date with the PC version."

It'll improve. As far as I'm aware the PC version is endless, I doubt they'll manage that on the xbox, but you never know!
You can see everyone playing with the newest snapshots here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/ (they're not even in the PC version yet!)

I read that on the PC the size of the world is basicly the amount of memory on your computer, It will carry on randomly generating new landscape until all the memory on you computer has been used up. I saw a video on youtube a while back some one had done of a speeded up filming of himself traveling none stop for over 24 hours in real time and he said his computer ran out of memory resorces and it just crashed or went back to the main starting screen.
