Wedding Reception Attire

Hello... I am going to a wedding reception in a couple of months which will be fairly laid back I believe and wondered if it would be ok to wear some smart black skinny jeans with heels and a top rather than have to buy a dress etc... Usually if I were attending the wedding I would wear a dress and dress up more but this is only the reception and I hate wearing dresses tbh

What do you guys think?

Sorry Greedyfly, It is the word jeans that does not work for me ! Beautifully cut trousers yes, jeans no. Even though it is an evening reception it still is a very formal gathering.

Chi-chi indeed it will but I shall power through. I only wear heels maybe once a year and the ankle problem is going to be lifelong so I guess I will just grin and bear it lol. They are very low, the only pair I own.

I think you should go in dress only...it is not a birthday party to wear casual outfit like jeans..knee length dresses are the good options for wedding reception. well that is my opinion

I never ever ever wear dresses or skirts, skinnies and a posh top sounds fine to me.

I think black jeans are just about do able but dressy trousers might be better

Just wear what you feel most at ease and comfortable in. Your hosts will be just as pleased to see you whatever you wear!
