My mobile phone keeps cuttng off when I am in the middle of a conversation and
many times cannot connect.
I have noticed that this has been happening since I had Double glazed windows put in. and wondered if this could be the problem.I rang O2 and they said that there is no fault with the connection in this area..
I mentioned this problem to a fried who actually works at O2 and she said that the windows could possibly be the cause....
Any thoughts anyone...by the way,my phone is quite new.

If a second layer of glass makes that much difference the signal in your area must be awful. No impossible but not my first explanation either. What does the handset display show as signal strength ?

My gut feeling is that the handset may have developed an intermittent fault. Do you know someone else nearby on O2 and if so do they experience the same ? Or try it in your old handset, if you have one, see if the problem goes away.

My daughter lives five doors away, also O2,but says her doesn`t keep cutting off...oh dear is it my phone..will have to try my old one like you suggest.
Only it really is a pain..happens so frequently...thank for suggestion.
Try swopping handsets for a while, try hers behind your impenetrable window glass ;-)
the phone signal just doesn't come through the window! it come through the whole building structure, underground car parks get a signal
kloofnek, five doors away can make the world of difference, The signal in our house varies a lot from room to room and even from one side of the room to the other.

I would suggest you test the signal with the window open and the window closed to see if it makes any difference.

Yes,I seem to notice it varies room to room...have tried it in and outside the house...no difference.
It is crazy...one minute I have full signal.. next..a bit..then nothing etc.etc.
Grr!!!
It appears to cut off more when ringing my daughter, but it is not just my phone that cuts off when being used here.
But having said this, someone else with O2 says their`s cuts off anywhere ever they are from time to time.So it cannot be my windows!!!
It is most annoying when in the middle of a conversation, one finds they are speaking to no-one!!!!
try the old trick SWITCH IF AND SWITCH IT BACK ON AGAIN nothing to loose
Same happened at my mothers house and I asked a friend who does D/Glazing, he says its the material they coat the galss in to stop heat escaping apparently its a type of metallic coating. If I step outsdie the back door at her house the siganl immediately jumps up and you can make a call. Best test is stand outside look at the reception bars then walk in doors and close the door, see what happens.
