After the success of last night's royal concert, why did it go so wrong for the Eurovision song contest ? none of the East European countries would have voted for us whatever, time to pull out methinks ?

can't have helped having the dire Englebert singing a song that was also past it's sell by date.
Don't be silly, we just picked an imbecile to sing who is about as outdated and talentless as can be possibly be found. There's something wrong with the selection process not the competition itself and what makes you think none of the Eastern European countries would have voted for us ' whatever'- the song and the artist was RUBBISH- that was the problem.
Just accept that we won't win and enjoy it.
It is good for a laugh, nothing else.
imo i don;t think eng was meant to win. we have enough expense to deal with out hosting that.
We could put up Paul McCartney singing Yesterday and we wouldn't win.
It's definitely down to the selection process. It's almost as a poor choice is mandatory.
I still have to watch though.
If we put up Paul MaCartney singing yesterday we SHOULDN'T win- d
ire load of old rubbish.
The whole thing is just a silly farce though and a bit of overcamp nonsense which the main part of the fun of watching it. It's so silly I don't know why people take us winning so seriously and it's a bit of a sour grapes attitude to sulk and not take part because we haven't won for a while.
Q, where did we go wrong.
A, by entering.
time to pull out, definitely
I think it is time to pull out - but quite how we would do that with dignity and without it appearing to be 'sour grapes' - which it would - I have no idea.
Tactical voting. I don't think we have a hope in hells chance of ever winning again whoever is representing the UK, so I agree about pulling out.
Accrington Stanley have a better chance of winning the FA cup than we have of ever winning the Eurovision song contest !
Success in what respect .Dire ,cringworthy . embarrising .splattered with unfunny comperes, long, bad television ,bad sound..Would like to be a fly on the was when ER tells philly about it .
There's no need to "pull out" of Eurovision, just don't enter in the first place and let it fade from memory.
