I have recently decided to buy a new laptop. My price range is not really limited, but obviously the cheaper the better. I have looked around at various websites and laptops but am unsure about what is best. I want to use the laptop for playing new games, watching dvds, listening to music, multi-tasking, general use of microsoft office, browsing the internet, and i do store a reasonable amount on the hard drive. I am looking for the fastest laptop available. I know a moderate amount about computers and realise that the pentium 4 is very powerful.

My problem is that i do not know much about the pentium M and it is only 1.8 rather than a 3.6 penntium 4. What is better ?

I am really looking for the most powerful laptop i can find being moderatelyy priced. Please help me. I appreicieate it. Thanks in Advance. Matt

There is no "best" laptop in the same way there is no "best" car.

There are good makes so is it best to go for them, IBM, Sony, Toshiba, and others, always get good reviews.

The 1.8 compared with 3.6 is not a true comparison as the mobile chips are designed for power saving to preserve battery life, but they still perform like a normal processor.

You say you are interested in new games, but most laptops are not designed for games. This is down to the graphics card which are usually "general" cards for general office work.

Some laptops are fitting better graphics cards so if I was you I would go down that route, find the laptop with the best graphics card and if it is a good make at a good price go for that.
