Hi Lady J - just checking how are things for you down there on the Lizard as up here, it's already blowing a real hoolie and we haven't even really begun. My sis says that the conditions in the Carrick Straits are pretty grim. One good branch has already come down here...... I see there was a little incident offshore from you but the yachtie is safe thanks to the Lizard RNLI and Culdrose.

( been in London for 2 days, so assume it has rained a bit here while we were away). Hope the lifeboat men don't have to go out searching for idiots tonight. I watched them go out from newhaven, sussex one stormy night in their little lifeboat to rescue a enormous passenger ferry, what a farce. bloody great ship in trouble, so a little lifeboat and crew risk their lives. All the big ship had to do was drop anchor and sit it out, let the passengers be sick and late home. Thats my opinion, everyone elses will differ I'm sure,
The clouds were almost tornado-like coming home from the pub an hour ago....pretty ominous! yes, percy, I hope that the lifeboat men are not called out - I remember being down here just before Xmas 30 years ago when the Penlee disaster occurred in Mousehole - that night was the foulest that I have known here - we were here as a family all together and went out to a pub east of Truro called the Wheel at Tresillian and the old man and I were soaked between their car park and the front door, some 60 yards.....
htere DT. it has been very windy and lots of rain all day. brances coming off some of our trees but at the moment no serious damage. thought at one time the polytunnel was going to take off but we bought extra anchoring bars so hopefully it will still be there in the morning. i'm sure others will be worse off then we are. hope you are safe.
royal cornwall seems to be suffering according to the news. do you intend to visit? we would have gone but will probably be doing treliske runs for the next few days.

glad to hear you are ok, just the one branch down here and it's a bit of a hollow and we get some protection from the winds....lots of debris down on the lanes though. Gness is snookered I see, getting to the Isles - have offered to book her into my local which is very comfortable and central for touring around us here....and plenty of bird watching and Guinness......not sure how many soft, silky cami/lingerie shops we have though.....other than M&S and the store near RBS and the bus station in Truro.....
