I have now bought the Kodak ESP C110 (thanks again Chris). Does anyone have one of these and any hints and tips I need to know? I wondered what is the difference between a Black toner and a High Capacity black toner. I presume there is more ink in the High Capacity ? And where is the best price for these toners ? I was really annoyed - I reserved this printer online for collection at Argos, when I got there, queued up etc, they gave me a 'substitute' - a different model, why advertise a printer when they clearly didn't have it in stock ? How annoying. So I left it there and got one in PC World. Now I just need to get the toners. Hope its easy to work as I havent even plugged it in yet.

It has a few little issues, the major one being it has no USB input, meaning everything has to be transferred to SD card if it's not being used with the computer (mine's in another room). I think the combined ink box for both was about £20 and certainly no more, which is nearly half that of my Canon. It hasn't been too good using other brands of photo paper (they do warn you) but what you save on the ink they get back on the paper as it costs a lot more.
And remember to program the printing parameters on the menu before printing or it'll use the default size whatever paper you've put in. It doesn't read the size and you must tell it, as well as black and white or double sided options.

The '30' black cartridge (nominally) prints 335 pages.
The '30XL' cartridge has a nominal output of 670 pages.

PS: I've suffered a similar frustration with Argos several years . A friend of mine (an elderly lady with no computer expertise) required a printer which would run from a parallel port (as she had one of the last PCs without USB sockets). I located one at an Argos branch 20 miles away. I took the train, walked the mile into town, walked the mile back and was then just about to get onto the return train when I noticed that the model number on the box wasn't the same one that was in the catalogue. So I had to walk a mile back to the store, only to be told that they'd changed the model (without changing the catalogue number) and they no longer stocked what I wanted! Grrr!!!

David sorry I'm not technical. <the major one being it has no USB input, meaning everything has to be transferred to SD card if it's not being used with the computer>. Can I use the USB wire I have on my old computer, plug this from the printer into my laptop, and print documents ? I won't be printing photos, just a few letters now and then. When you say programme the printing parameters, do i do this on the 'Print' page which comes up as a window on my laptop ? I just use A4 paper. Sorry to sound a bit dim. Chris thanks for the info, where is the best place to buy cartridges ?
David had me confused for a moment too, Smurfchops!
Some printers let you plug a USB memory stick into them, so that you can print your photos (etc) directly from the stick. (i.e. you don't need a computer at all). It seems to be that feature which David would like to see (but which doesn't exist) with your printer. But don't worry, you can still connect it to your computer's USB port!
My link above goes to Kodak's own online sales site, so that should be 100% reliable. However the link I gave you yesterday (which I'll repeat here) offers genuine Kodak cartridges slightly cheaper. (It's a well-known and trustworthy retailer):

hi guys.I recently bought a Kodak esp C110 printer. As i was moving printer to a suitable position,i removed the usb cable for from the printer while it was still connected to the computer, so the computer and the printer were all still plunged to the power, when i tried to re-connect the usb cable to printer at the back of my printer the moment i inserted the usb cable sparks came out it cant switch on again.so i just do not know what happened and is it possible to replace the power outlet of this printer because its still new
Didn't know they don't accept html code here. Anyway, if you want to find ink toners visit this site that I posted above: http:// www.get price.c .../ton er-cart ridges. htm
