Overheard on the JKS - grandmother referred to granddaughter as Chardonnay. Mother corrected her - it's Chardonnia.
I'm waiting for a Shiraza or a Beaujolaisa.
Any more silly names? All contributions welcome to brighten up a dull day.

A friend of a friend called her daughter Dolly-May - now I know thats not unusual but she is 20 years old and her Mother still calls her by both names - everytime I see her I think she is going to break out singing 'Stand by your Man'............{:o/
My 3 children have traditional names (except maybe my eldest who is called Alyssa). My daughters have each got two children and they have traditional names too. Both daughters are pregnant again and the eldest has chosen some dubious names for her baby that I hope to talk her out of before the birth.
My friends sister has a daughter called Prada Beau
I know identical twins called Merlin and Raven
I also know someone local whose surname is Budd and their baby BOY is called Lupin
i can't think of too many, but confess that some of the ones on here are plain bonkers, whoever would call their child chardonnia needs locking up.
Weird names are not something new. In my family tree is a family called Leaf, even in victorian times you would have been amazed by the names they were given....................Basil, Daisy, Nolana, and Vine were just a few.
Didn't the registrars try to talk people out of stupid names at one point, and if so does it still happen?
A friend of mine, a nurse, so she should have known better' named her twins Sam and Ella, didn't see what we were laughing at for ages.
Whilst running a table tennis tournament I once shouted out for a couple, by their surnames, for the mixed doubles and couldn't understand why people were laughing..................May and Hayes.
