I started my driving lessons today and my instructor said to try and get some practice in between lessons, so, my Uncle is going to let me practice in his car which is a 206 but what insurance do I need to be able to drive his car?
Your uncle will have to put you down as a named driver, but his premium will rocket. I think the only other way is for you to take out an insurance policy under your own name, if you can as it isn't your own car. Either way, I am guessing it will be quite expensive.
It won't necesarily be a huge amount. When my boyfriend was learning age 23 I added him to my policy and from memory it was less than £200 for the year. I'm guessing you're a little younger but it might not be as much as expected.
EvianBaby is right. To be added as a named driver won't be too expensive as a learner as you will always be accompanied by a qualified driver. The shock will come when you let the insurers know you have passed your test and can now drive unaccompanied.
My son was learning 2 years ago aged 17 - the cheapest insurance we could get him added on as a named driver was £1,200 - it was an old Fiesta and we live in the country
