A third of 16-23 year olds don't know it comes from pigs.

A third don't know where milk comes from and...and...only two thirds knew that eggs came from chilckens.

Yes. Prudie, where do kebabs come from? I bet aog's inner city children know, especially if they're Turkish Muslims, but I'm a countryman and know nothing of these things. For a while, I was convinced that falafel was some sort of meat.

Whatever kebabs come from, the animal has one heck of a leg . I've seen it on a vertical spit.

Do we really need to know where kebabs come from? Nothing new here really, I recall in 1971 taking a party of Leeds kids to the Dales for a week, they too were ignorant about where their food came from.

Read this in my Indy this morning. The first thought was that many 16-23 year olds would see this questionnaire as a chance to have a laugh and give daft answers.

Point to note - the sheesh kebab (as opposed to its insolent cousin, the doner kebab) is one of the healthiest take-aways you can purchase.

Chargrilled meat with salad and a pitta bread.
