I have an underactive thyroid. I remember going to the doctor to ask if I could possibly have a thyroid test as I felt I might have an underactive thyroid. He got in a right mood with me for daring to suggest I knew what was wrong with me!
If I were you I'd write a list of all the symptoms and things that are worrying you. Give it to the doctor and explain which symptoms have been a recent problem and which have been around a while. Then hopefully he/she will see a connection.
Say what you've said in your mail - it is clear. Be insistent that you think all your problems are linked, and that you would like them thoroughly investigated.
I really sympathise. I hate to say it but I have had the best reponses from doctors when I have taken an older man with me, you don't get brushed off so easily. Worth a thought for the future if it doesn't go well tomorrow.
I'm also of to the doctors tomorrow - and I'm preparing to stand my ground! I hope I won't be having to go back at a later date with my dad or husband in tow.
thanks guys, good advise - also just seen the spelling in my post!!! sorry!!
they're all problems that i can live with, but I'm just fed up of them esp flaring up on holiday! My doctor is good and i like him, just going to the doctors makes me feel as though i am 10 years old and going to see the headmaster!
