My wife has been left a beautiful fur coat by an aunt (now deceased) but will not wear it to go to a restauran or function.
What should she do with it?

Give it to a rescue center for dogs/cats etc for bedding.
Sell it - there are still those who will buy. If it's a vintage coat, it's not been made by killing a recent animal - those who are already dead are dead, nothing will bring them back.
Yes-try putting it on ebay-there were quite a few on there during last winter. Look for international buyers,as they may not be so bothered by wearing fur,
Flog it and think about donating some money to an animal charity.
Wearing is only a personal or very local problem; since fake fur became fashionable for a while, it makes less sense to spit at someone wearing a 'fur' !

Plenty of people still wear them here, and there's still a market; there's s a booth selling fur coats at Newmarket race meetings, for example; and there are still furriers in London who buy coats. What fur is it? Some old furs fetch very good money, not just because of the fur it is, but because the quality is very good.
It's common to see many women in Eastern Europe wear furs during the winter. I don't think they worry about the ethics like people in Western Europe. I'm sure if you advertise the coat on-line then someone from there will happily buy it.
There's plenty of women in New York who wear real fur aswell, in fact there's a district where all the fur shops are located.
Give it to me!

No seriously, ebay or a vintage shop will buy thyre still popular xx
tinkerbell.

you look fab - you do not need furs
You could donate it to your local Amateur Dramatic Society for their Props Department.
get rid, jumble sale, charity shop.
personally id bin it.

The thought of making money from it seems repellant to me.
I have a vintage fur cape....love it....got from ebay ...

;0> but thanks excels hehe xxx
If it fitted I would wear it quite happily.
So would Mrs sqad.
If she has a worry about making money from it..(cos i get the impression she dosent like it or mabye dosent agree with real fur) then she could sell and give money to charity or something in memorial of the aunt etc....xxxx
