Are you doomed to having lose skin after dieting as you get older.
I have started slimming world which I am getting on ok with but at the back of my mind I am thinking that the weight may go only to be replaced by lose skin.
I know I will be healthier but I may not feel too happy at the prospect.

Depends on many things. If your skin has lost its elasticity it will never spring back, no matter how slowly you diet or how much you exercise.
Genes has a lot to do with it. How old are you, how much weight do you intend to lose? Bear in mind that loose skin will be hidden under clothing and you will feel much fitter, whilst everyone notices if you are fat and you...

I have just started going to Weightwatchers (I'm desperate) and this is one of the things I am concerned about. I think age has a lot to do with it as the skin loses its elasticity as you get older. However, as fat is very uncomfortable as well as not being healthy, I have decided to ignore that aspect of getting thin.

It depends how big you are. A friend of mine was 17 stone before I knew her and she was quite young. She lost weight at a fairly slow rate after her boyfriend died (due to the stress) and she is flabby to this day. She has quite a lot of stretch marks but although she is slimmer, her body will never be taut. If you only need to lose a couple of stone, I can`t see a problem.
The thing is, your skin goes loose as you become older anyway. The only way to saty taut all over is to never ever gain any excess weight - now welcome back to the real world.
I have quietly lost quite a lot of weight since April - I haven't weighed myself obsessively but I am about 1.5 stone down on what I was - and still distance to cover. Obviously I have flabby skin. I would rather have flabby skin than high blood pressure and joint pain.
However I notice that lycra shapewear etc is very comforting - and I'm aware that after liposuction surgeons give women fearsome body wrap bandages - so I wonder if persistently wearing support clothing would help skin to find it's way back?
It's not a big issue though. You weigh up the one against the other, and it's simply better not to be very overweight.
