Hi, would someone be able to tell me where I could find out information about why the government changed the regulations regarding directory enquiries, and how it might affect companies in the future?

i doubt it is to do with the government but rarther ofcom, the big union who deal with the major communications companies, the deal is basically that bt were solely providing directory enq. no-one else, the new numbers were introduced to give all companies their own opportunity to provided the service.

basically ofcom control what goes on and by what companies, and it's to do with laws such as fair trading, and to prevent bt from being the only company in the market (or something along those lines).

i've no idea of any sites that outline the information any more clearly but you could try googling for ofcoms website and see if there's info there as i'm sure that's where your most likely to find it.
