The answer that fits is DOOFER. (D?OFER)

25A. Beige garment may be fashioned in ambient (5)
The answer that fits is GREGE. (?REGE)

oof is slang for money.
25A Take 'ambient' out of 'beige garment' and it leaves you 'Grege'. It's a kind of undyed (beige) cloth

Was not aware of the meaning of oof as money.

Also greige means rough cloth, grege must be a variation.
