Modern laptop batteries are best kept charged and should never be allowed to become completely depleted.
I rarely comment on people's spelling as I am not in the least literary advanced myself, but perhaps you could use the computer to practice capitals and full stops.
once battery is charged take it off laptop.use the power cord and only put battery back on when needed.
otherwise if battery is at 97% and it is plugged into mains the battery will charge till fully 100%.then the battery thinks it needs less and less charging so dont last long
Though keep in mind that the battery adds a lot of the structural strength to some designs of laptop chassis, leaving it out can leave the laptop flimsy and likely to twist if picked up by one edge which can result in damage to the laptop.
I have just recently met someone who owns a laptop rental company and they told me that if you have a new laptop you should always make sure to charge the battery for at least 17 hours. Also, make sure the battery is running almost on empty before charging it again. These guys were incredibly helpful - http://www.qrent.co.za/. Hope that helps!
