Outside London it can be as low as £90 but i would suggest you can expect to get at least £100 a day + employer pension. I look for £150. In London higher rates apply. The rates sound good but of course as you don't get separate paid holidays the rate includes holiday pay, and you do pay NI, pension, tax and student loan repayment on the money.
With the right groups, mike1111, it's really rewarding, but I can see your point and am considering making the same choice as you.
It's soul destroying when you spend ages preparing lessons for classes when so many students don't want to be there, don't bring any equipment, don't listen to a word you say or write down anything, chase each other round the room, constantly demand the toilet, drink red bull, cause disruption by farting, refuse to follow any instructions..... I'm sure you saw it all

I currently do supply teaching in the midlands, and have worked for two different agencies. The first one paid £120 a day, but did not find me much work. The second one paid £110 a day but I could have worked virtually every day. Have you tried approaching your local LEA as they often have a supply service, which obviously gets preference. Hope this helps.
