One of my relatives has asked me if I would like a makeover for my birthday.
Has anyone had one? Were you pleased with the results?

Boo, I'm not at all offended. She just wants me to feel special and have some lovely photographs done. She loves me, see.
I used to be engaged to a Boots No7 make up girl , so that makes me qualified to do makeovers imo.
Question Author
Why didn't you marry her Tony? No foundation in it?
LO, very good Tilly ( makes mental note to self, Tilly is as sharp as a razor, so be careful ).
I had a mini one some time back with Laura Mercia products (or at least i think that's the name, it was at Space UK at any rate), it looked fabulous but naturally I can never recreate the same look completely spot on myself.

Anyway Tony what's an acrow? Will it help me look lovely for my photographs?
Question Author
China Doll, did you have photos taken?
Acrow = holds up the ceiling, while you install RSJ's Tilly ( runs for cover again ) lol.
Tilly, have a look at this and see if you can paste a link then.

My ex made me have a makeover. I ended up looking like this:

No, this was just an evening thing in the shop where you got taught to apply make up and had a mini thing done, they did my eye make-up as I wanted tips on that as my eyes are tiny and piggy like. I've never done one of those make over and photo session things, I wouldn't want to personally as I'd feel a bit uncomfortable (hate having my photo taken).
Question Author
That's what I look like now, DT but I wear more clothes.

Thanks Sandy, I'll have a try.
Question Author
China Doll, That's why I asked the question. I wanted to know how other people felt about it.
I'd rather go to one of the department stores and have them do my make up (and sell me stuff I don't need but think I do), get a decent blow dry at the hairdressers and then go out with the girls feeling nice, and bring along a camera to that.... I think I'd be happier with that than having a load of slap put on me and then placing me in front of a camera sober while someone tells me to 'smile'.... I'd be useless!

A 'proper portrait photographer would do a nice job, I expect. They would probably know how to put you at ease.
I hate my photo being taken too and I was totally comfortable and happy when I had mine done. It was a professional photographer and I think that makes a difference.
