My Daughter Cannot get a Holiday for ONE Person !
My daughter is single, age 31. She has promotion in her present employment which she starts in 4 weeks time. She has no ties & fancies a weeks holiday ALONE at a Warm Destination , basically just to relax, read & study.
She has TREID EVERYWHERE to book a holiday for ONE PERSON but she has been told that she MUST pay double as nobody caters for ONE PERSON alone !
Could this be because it is coming up to Kids Summer Holiday time & they know that they will get Family Bookings, obviously costing a damn site more than a single booking !
Does anybody have ideas as to WHERE she just might get a foreign holiday in a hot place at a decent price ?
Thank You ALL in advance, Kenny.

Small gites are very rare, as a couple we often had to book 4 bed gites.
If you say where you want to go on AB there should be many ABers who will recommend hotels.

Singles are treated badly, they usually have to pay a supplement for a single room. Its nothing new Kenny if she has to go alone she'll have to pay the single supplement.. sometimes the odd holiday comes up where there is no supplement to pay usually off season. She could look on-line for singles holidays. I have a single friend who goes on cruises on her own.
Not only do singles have to pay 25 percent - or more - over the price each member of a couple has to pay, but they get worse rooms. No balcony, no sea-view, often right next to the lift which rumbles all night - sometimes the window looks over a slum or a busy road. In some places a single person does not even get a chair to sit on - & is expected to sit only on the bed or a bathroom stool. Singles should also check the linen carefully - hotels seem to think a single person staying only one night does not dirty the linen enough for it to be changed for the next person !!!!!
