Doors locking on Scoda
I have hired a car on holiday and was given a Scoda Fabia estate. I was reverse parking into a bay, got out to check room between next car, the drivers door shut and all the doors locked with keys in ignition and engine running.
I know this is possible because its happened but why should it? Took 3 hours for a spare key to come. What if a child was still in car.

I have seen this or similiar happen so many times whenever i leave an engine running (or work on a car) i always make sure the drivers window is open.

I know, its scarey. It used to be possible (more than 20 years ago) to do this with the Suzuki Jimney, the non remote locking version. I would have thought it would have been eradicated years ago. BUT one good scare when it happened to me and I NEVER EVER leave the car with the keys inside it, let alone leave the engine running.
On the earlie VAG cars it was possible to remove this function through the convenience settings on the dash. I'm out of the trade now, but i'm going to presume that it is still possible without having to communicate through the OBD can. This (was)is one of those functions that required ignition on like resetting service interval etc. Not like the stupid AUDI system that wouldn't allow you to reset the oil service light ....
