I watched all of Mr Diamonds appearence in front of the Select Committee live yesterday afternoon and I had a terrible feeling of Deja Vu.

"I didn't know anything "

"I wasn't there when it happened"

"It was a mistake by junior staff"

"It was regrettable"

Etc, etc.

I can't think who that reminded me of, unless it was Rebecca Brooks, The Murdochs, et al.

But unlike Rebecca Brooks Mr Diamond will not be going to prison.

There is still a chance that he might !
3 hours questioning by MP^S, what was achieved, nothing ?
It certainly appears that you did have a "Deja Vu Experience" and I've got a funny feeling that there are many more on the horizon!
they are going to hold a parliamentary enquiry, not a police one, humm
All these long-running "enquiries" are just a big con by Cameron to divert attention from the absolute mess his fellow-Etonian Osborne is making of the economy.
i can't see the point, if it's a case of mass fraud, then aren't the police involved.

The Labour Party is in favour of a judge led enquiry. Are you seriously saying that wouldn't be an even 'longer running' enquiry?
I didn't mention the Labour Party, so I don't understand your comment toalisi, unless this is YOUR diversionary tactic.
I must have misunderstood your comment canary.

Everyone (I think) agrees that the current scandal needs an investigation. Cameron & his fellow Etonian Osborne are in favour of a swift Parliamentary enquiry to report by Christmas.
Mr Milliband and his Labour party want a Leveson style investigation to take as long as it takes.

I can't see where the 'big con' by the Tories to divert attention from the economy comes into it.
The media highlighted that various banks have colluded in setting the LIBOR rate. My copy of the O.E.D. says--Collude--come to an understanding or conspire together, esp for a fraudulent purpose. So where is the problem for the Police beginning an investigation, irrespective of any political outcome?
