They don`t let me near anything risky since the incident with the hens and the electric fence. I came off worse than the hens that time.
I do get a turn with the rifles if other guests stand well back.
May get taxi home rather than find somewhere dry to sleep.
Won`t use the caravan as I don`t trust my cousins not to drive me off somewhere while I sleep.

I am taking young Frankie to the vet this morning. The appointment is at ten past ten. I am unsure whether I should go and try to catch him early and have to listen to him screaming from his little carrier. Or do I wait to the last minute and find that he is cowering under the bed at the furthest corner?
He knows that something is up as he saw me put the carrier in the hall last night - I thought I was being sneaky but he was being sneakier.

Been watching our little family of baby blackbirds who are now old enough to feed themselves - one has had the brainy idea of just sitting on the birdtable platform under its little slate roof, a real shelter for him ......... he has sat there for the past 20 mins occasionally staring upwards, you can almost read his mind ..."Hmm this is nice, keeping nice and dry here!" he keeps shooing all the other birds off if they attempt to land on it, - bit selfish really, but he did get there first! Really amusing! :)

back from work now, and it has been raining non-stop all day.
this weather looks like it's here for the weekend, and will make for a very interesting grand prix at silverstone.
not to mention i'll get soaked on sunday (olympic torch day).
