Hi all, my hard drive is starting to make continual noises like a radiator filling up - does this mean the life of my drive is about to end or is it just wear and tear? Should I get a new hard drive? Many thanks.

To put it simply, Back-up or save any data to CD that you don't want to lose and do it NOW. Any unusual noise from a hard drive is panic time !!

If it is a squeaky noise, it may be the disk heads being parked.

u may well have a virus/spyware that causes the software to keep reading from the drive, chugging over.
