EBay - Buyer not yet Collected..
34 Answers
I am newbie seller on Ebay, so I am not sure what the protocol usually is on there, so thought I'd ask this question here.
I do realise people are busy with their hectic lives...
Buyer purchased an item from me Mon 2nd July, collection only. He emailed to say he might collect yesterday. I emailed him and asked if he was still going to collect. No reply.
I don't want to email him again just yet, but I just wanted to know what usually happens when a buyer does not connect, how long is a reasonable amount of time to re-list the item?
Anything else I would need to know as a seller.
TIA

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.says here, four days to pay, but it does need to be reported as unpaid so eBay can chase it up (and I've often had to do that) - however I still think that 4 days is a very short time. We don't know what might be happening at the buyer end. http:// pages.e bay.co. ...ell/ unpaid- items.h tml
but doesn't it just smell of 'not gonna get in touch' to you?
I mean, why would anyone bid on a CO item and not get in touch when they win?
I for see the next thing - buyer says they have (choose one): been ill (always in hospital), cat fell on their head, cat used mouse to bid for them even managing to confirm, mouse used cat to bid on item even managing to confirm, tree fell on house but house in middle of concrete jungle, they broke a nail ....

Similar thing has happened to me - I sold my item in MAY. They still have not collected and Ebay say there is nothing I can do but wait!
Ridiculous. I have offered several times to post the item if they cover the costs but to no avail. Mine has paid though and has not collected. I would email your buyer and give them a date to pick up and pay by or you shall be contacting Ebay. You are covered as the buyer has not paid yet.

muchlovex it is not the non collection but the non payment that is the problem. File a non payer report on Monday and just leave it to ebay. They will give them 5 days to pay and then issue a non payer strike to the buyer, after that you can relist or do what ever you like with the item plus you will get the final sale fee refunded.
The buyer, emailed me yesterday and said 'sorry for the delay, are you available for collection monday'?
I've emailed him a few time slots for collection. No email back from him confirming.
What shall i say to him if he does not collect today?
I am inclined to say to offer him time slots for collection this week and say if it;s not collected by Friday then i would will contact Ebay to relist.

I think you need to allow the buyer some time, but over a week without much contact seems fair enough to me for you to cancel and re-list. Do it through e-bay though to recap your fees and ensure no neg feedback.
I figure if someones working all week, they may only have 1 day free to come and get the item. That said, if they really want it, they'll find the time to get it. Just best to do things in a nice manner I think.
