Plugging into a street light is an old one, there was a case where it had gone on for years. No one knew until there was a failiure at a substation, the street lights were on a diffrent circuit but the supply to the houses failed. When the engineers came to check there was street of dark houses, except one that was lit up like a Christmas tree , that was the one that had wired into the street light circuit.
My mate used to turn his gas meter in reverse so that it ran backwards. Silly, I hear you say? Not so, as every quarter, instead of paying his gas bill the Gas Board sent him a cash rebate. Mind you, that was back in the good old days when we had a Gas Board and a Leccky Board, none of your privatised nonsense.
sorry to not get back but sleep got in the way, and the darkness, which finally lifted, just as it was really getting dark, hope that makes sense.
For those that don't know what a shilling is, gawd help us.
