Gooseberries _Help

I have just been given a BIG bag of goosberries I can use some but there are so many I would like to freeze some as a dessert. Any ideas please

I blanch them in hot water for a minute or so, then let them cool and freeze them. But I know other people who just wash, top and tail them, and then freeze them uncokked and apparently that works just as well.

Love gooseberry crumble
Gooseberry fool is yummy. You can't freeze it, but you can use frozen gooseberries to make it

Kiki , sorry to be such a dim wit but do you cook them before you freeze them then make the fool or freeze them raw.

uncooked, even. Or you can try uncokked if you prefer

how about a gooseberry relish apprently works well with fish
Ooh yes fluff - smoked mackerel and a gooseberry chutney - very nice indeed.
Not sure about freezing crumble but here we wouldn't need to, it would disappear very quickly and if you invite us all round we'll devour it for you
Freezing crumble is fine. You can also do gooseberry pie or streusel, which is effectively pastry on the bottom, cooked goosegogs and crumble mix on the top. Basically you can make anything which you would use apples for....
