I've some uncooked mushrooms left over from a previous meal. My idea is to have them on toast in the morning but I feel that there should be something mixed in with them. But what? Suggestions more than welcome. Thanks.

cream, salt, pepper.
Mccfluff will probably have some great recipes...
You really dont need to mess about with them, just add a little garlic, salt and pepper and fry.
I`ve got a recipe from the last WeightWatchers book they had out for creamy mushrooms on toast. Simmer mushrooms with a little hot vegetable stock until the liquid has almost evaporated (I`d probably fry them to start them off though). Stir in low fat soft cheese and heat through. Season. I`d probably mix in a little Dijon mustard with it. Pile on top of toast.
I`m not sure I could eat garlic for breakfast..
I put mushrooms in a little pot with butter and some water, put the lid on, and microwave them - yummy and juicy.
Garlic mushrooms on toast for breakfast is delicious!!
Fry a little bacon, add mushrooms, lemon juice and pepper. Pop on hot toast, enjoy.
if lunch time, the above with a smidge of chopped chillis to taste and a good green salad, dressing to taste (I like a little maple syrup in my dressing to counter the chillis).....reasonable chilled Sauv Blanc as a wine.
my mum used to make this for tea. She boiled milk and mushrooms and then thickened with cornflour. Loads of white pepper too! It was always a greyish sauce, but very mushroomy and very delicious!

Thanks a lot folks. I will have difficulty sleeping now - I'm anticipating breakfast already! Spoiled for choice now.
put the mushrooms upside down on a plate, put a knob of butter and a few drops of worcestershire sauce on each one and microwave until they sag and produce juice. about 5mins @ 350Watts. Serve on toast.
The above recipe works best with large open mushrooms.
