I have posted before about my neighbour and the parking issues (he doesn't have a dropped kerb but parks one of his cars on his front garden, we don't park across 'his' bit, but occasionally himself's van has to slightly encroach because of the neighbours the other side). I have made huge progress on being friendly (to the point where the wife brought round a big tin of chocolates, etc). Came home today and he has put a traffic cone half way down the pavement, attached with a chain to his fence, designating 'his' bit of pavement (he has previously painted a white line down 'his' bit of pavement). I don't want to get arsey with him, but what am I supposed to do if one of the kids falls over it (obviously I will warn them that it's there, but two of them are only little so it's not likely to sink in).

Not a good week.

It's all going on here - now the lot next door are doing a flit (waiting for the landlord/police to show up).

Different side - these are the ones who hurl abuse at each other, scream at their kids and have big rows with their landlord in the street (he had to call the police last time).

Sounds like a very interesting cul-de-sac Sher!!!
I'm intrigued as to what the old boy is going to do next ! Is it something that just happens as we get old.. or are people born bonkers like that?
I have a bonkers oldie next door and our building work was clearly causing them trauma stress... but they behaved in such a bizarre manner... that it ended up costing THEM money... and they refuse to co-operate so much that we never paid what we owed them!!!

The people across the road told me that when our landlord was having this house extended the bloke next door wouldn't allow any of the scaffolding to be on his property and it cost our landlord loads extra to get round the problem. He's not old as such, maybe late fifties/early sixties - apparently it all started because of a cat (I have no idea what the full story is). The mind boggles as to what he will come up with next.
