Will it EVER stop raining? Just got back from town, jeans soaked, almost could empty water out of shoes - puddles were so big on the pavements! Can't remember a Summer as bad as this, can you?

well I'm off to mrs_o talk on 'Advanced Seaweed Identification' tonight, she
should have some good specimens, maybe give us a clue about the weather!!
If I remember correctly, the effects were far worse. Do you remember contaminated water supplies, and large areas having water tankers going in?
Yes, we had them (I think they were called bowsers or something like that) after the water supply was contaminated at Tewkesbury. God, I hope it doesn't come to that again!
Sorry but we've had a glorious day here in Gloucester, it was almost too hot sat in the garden having a cold beer ;-) Hope I'm not tempting fate.

Good grief masma - how lucky are you, it hasn't stopped to rain here in Leicestershire today, torrential at times. The sun has now come out and its a different world, pity its so late in the day!
Ann- days like today here in July are about as scarce as hens' teeth. It rained almost every day in June and until Thursday here.
Usually at this time we are bundled up in woollies and raincoats.
I think we have had it as far as any decent weather is concerned for this summer. August is traditionally a wet month anyway. I don`t mind bad weather in winter as it is to be expected but it is very disappointing when it rains all summer. I really don`t think summer is going to happen at all. I`ve resigned myself to that. My thoughts are turning towards autumn already and I am planning a holiday in September. If we don`t see some sun it is going to be an awfully long winter.
Its been another beautiful day here again today (south east)
