Hi all,

I'm considering getting my parents a bird nest camera for their Christmas. They are both really into that sort of thing so I want to get them one that will stream the images to their TV rather than just take pics - is there such a thing?? Also, if it is possible can anyone recommend one that gives clear images, preferably with infrared facilities too. My budget is anything up to 50.

Thanks in advance :)

What about a web cam? I am not sure if you can view it on your T.V but if they have a computer then it shows images all the time. I have seen the BBC webcams and they are good. There is a bird table cam and I have a quick look at it now and again.
yeh u can buy bird boxes with a video camera in them so u can watch the baby birdies. u googles it for websites that sell them?

I can't buy the box as there is a little opening in the roof of my folks property that they go into to nest every year - so I was wanting a camera my dad could fit in there so they could watch until their hearts are content.

This is all bad news for me though - every time I go to visit I'll have to make my own coffee while they ogle the images on the screen! pah! LOL

Dakota i think that you will do better in internet and technology, if you agree, ask for someone to report this and get it moved

Never thought about that Woofgang - thanks!

I will keep it here and put it in I&T too to capture both markets LOL

Thanks x

you are going to be pretty lucky to buy a complete outfilt for less than 100! How handy are you- or they? You could try putting one together yourself- you can get the bits fairly cheap. Have a read of this: http://www.beautifulbritain.co.uk/htm/wildlife_gardening/bluetitcam.htm

I know it says its for a nest box but you can set it up anywhere. bear in mind it must be installed well before the nesting season- it is illegal to disturb a bird at its nest site- even if it is in your house or garden!
